One of the standout art pieces at Tasmania’s Dark Mofo festival would have to be the towering FEAR EATS THE SOUL letters standing at a huge 23 metres x 11 metres complete with RED LEDs and water misters to give the effect of red bleeding into the night. As few as 600 SloanLED PRISM Red LED modules made this job look as good as it did.
The sign consists of fabricated aluminium channel letters with red translucent vinyl over 4.5mm opal acrylic faces. Depth = 125mm and stroke width = 550mm. Each letter sits at 1.5m high and has only two runs of PRISM Red modules at 4.9 modules per metre. The total power draw was an impressive 680 watts for a set of letters this big which is industry leading.
